Seconds to Take Off…

Well friends the clock has hit the final seconds! I am currently perched in the Boise Airport preparing for the first of many flights of this glorious trip.  It is so hard to believe that this thing I have planned and dreamed about for so long is finally here.  This dream of solo travel, of going out and seeing the world is reality.  Even more so, my dream of being a travel blogger is coming true because of all of you wonderful readers.

I woke up this morning to wonderful messages of support and excitement from family and friends.  It is amazing to me that a trip that has such personal meaning can make others feel excited as well.  It caused me to think about how we view other people’s bravery.  No matter what you do in life, you live within a community.  Whether those communities are hometowns, school, church, or sports, these communities fuel all that we do.

The encouragement from this community is a huge contributing factor towards this “bravery” people keep talking about.  Without the support to follow my dreams, I think the nerves from this week would have won.  The financial stress would have absolutely convinced me this was not the right decision.  Last but not least, the idea that I could travel and eat and somehow figure out how to support that through blogging would have seemed like an idea too far-fetched to be worth pursuing.  So as I sit in this terminal, excitement flowing out of me, all I can think is thank you this community for supporting me and joining me on this grand adventure.

With my trusty Tortuga Backpack stuffed and slung on my back with passport in hand, I am so ready.  Ready to take on solo travel, see incredible new places, and visit familiar faces along the way.  I am so excited to share my experiences and lessons from this adventure with fellow and future travelers.  Please share this out to others and follow on social media (links at the bottom of the page).  Additionally, if you have questions or are looking for information on a certain destination or subject of travel, do not hesitate to leave a comment below or email me through the contact page. I am so excited to take you all in my pack with me.

Next stop, Reykjavik, Iceland!
